Vice Chairman
I, Robert “Nat” Riddick grew up in Gatesville, NC and attended Gates County public schools. After graduating from East Carolina University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, I worked in a family business located in Ahoskie, NC. for 30 years. I am currently licensed in North Carolina and Virginia as a Certified Residential Appraiser. I have made Hertford County my home since 1976 raising 2 adult daughters with my wife of 42 years. We are the proud grandparents of a grandson and a granddaughter.
I have had the pleasure for the preceding 25 years to represent not only District 4, but all of the member owners of Roanoke Cooperative. I am the current Vice Chair for the Roanoke Cooperative Board having served in that capacity for several years along with being on the Executive Committee of the Roanoke Board. I am past Vice Chair of the Statewide NCPAC where I advocate for member-owner interests at the state level working to influence policy and protect co-op values. I am still active with the Statewide NCPAC. I have also had the pleasure to be a presenter at a national meeting of the NRECA where I shared insights on how co-op boards can evaluate and support broadband subsidiaries through sound financial modeling and deliver quality services to its member owners. To ensure that I have the necessary knowledge to understanding issues facing the utility industry, it was very important to me that I earned my Credentialed Cooperative Director certificate (CCD), Board Leadership certificate (BLC) and Director Gold Credential Program certificate (DGC).
I currently serve on the Board of Century Mutual Insurance Company headquartered in Greensboro, NC having been selected to serve in 2022, serving on the financial committee. I have been a director for the Ahoskie branch of Southern Bank and Trust Company for numerous years.
My family and I are active members of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, where I serve on the financial committee, buildings and grounds committee and usher.
