Marva Bond of Gates County has proudly represented District 6 on the Roanoke Cooperative Board of Directors since 2021. Committed to serving her community, Marva has dedicated herself to deeply understanding the cooperative model—its unique values and how it benefits the people in our region. She has actively connected with fellow directors both locally and across the nation to grow in her role, earning her Credentialed Cooperative Director certification in 2023, her Board Leadership Certification in 2024, and her Director Gold Credential through NRECA earlier this year.
Outside of her board responsibilities, Marva remains deeply engaged in community life. She serves as Secretary, Steward Board member, and Church Clerk at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Sunbury. She has also contributed her time to the Gates County Library Board, Albemarle Regional Library Board, and the Board of Directors for Studio 32 in Sunbury.
Marva is passionate about ensuring member-owners are aware of the cooperative’s many resources and services designed to help manage energy use and enhance their experience. She is honored to represent District 6 and is committed to keeping the community informed, empowered, and connected.
