The Power Pulse | November 2025: Engagement, Member Voices & Community Investment

Dear Member-Owners,

As we close out our four-year strategic plan, Vision 2025, and prepare to launch Connect 2030, one thing has been clear every step of the way: our member-owners are the difference makers. Roanoke Cooperative is stronger because of the people who stand with us — the neighbors, families, and local leaders who take pride in shaping the future of their cooperative.

From extending access to broadband connectivity to advancing local investment, these partnerships are the foundation of everything we do. The cooperative model works because our member-owners don’t just receive service — they actively shape it.

Members Making a Difference

Few things embody the cooperative spirit more than the sight of our member-owners standing shoulder to shoulder with our line crews during storm-restoration efforts. Whether helping clear debris, delivering food and water, or offering words of encouragement, these acts of kindness remind us what “community” truly means.

We are grateful to highlight those member-owners who go above and beyond — the ones who make a difference when it matters most and show what the cooperative model looks like in action.

Roanoke Champions

Beyond individual acts of service, thousands of our member-owners are what we call Roanoke Champions — member-owners who participate in multiple high-impact programs that strengthen both their homes and our cooperative.

From Operation Round-Up contributions and energy-efficiency initiatives to Levelized Billing and broadband subscriptions, these Champions demonstrate a deep commitment to stability, savings, and shared success. Levelized Billing, in particular, helps households manage their budgets more predictably while supporting the cooperative’s ability to plan and deliver reliable service year-round.

It’s also worth recognizing that our member-owners lead the nation in participation in America’s Electric Cooperatives — the national program that ensures rural voices are heard on energy and infrastructure issues that impact our communities. This distinction underscores the pride and engagement that define Roanoke Cooperative.

This growing community of Champions shows that engagement isn’t passive — it’s a powerful partnership between member-owners and their cooperative.

Member-Owner Voices That Inspire

It’s worth noting the many member-owners who lend their voices to share what being part of Roanoke Cooperative means to them. Whether through testimonials, social-media stories, Google Reviews, or by showing up at community events like our Clean Energy Expo and our “Today, Tomorrow, Together” town hall forums, these individuals help tell the real story of cooperative value.

We also appreciate the strong participation in this year’s virtual Annual Meeting and the ongoing input from our Roanoke Roundtable advisory members. These voices help shape the programs and services that matter most to our communities and ensure that decisions are grounded in real member perspectives.

Their involvement reminds us that cooperation isn’t just something we talk about — it’s something we see and hear every day across our service territory.

A Shared Commitment to the Future

We recognize the challenges our region faces — from economic disparities to infrastructure gaps — but we also recognize the remarkable spirit of collaboration that defines this place. Our success depends on our ability to work together toward a common purpose: promoting quality of life across northeastern North Carolina.

As Vision 2025 transitions into Connect 2030, we’ll continue building on this foundation — guided by the same cooperative values that have carried us since the beginning.

Together, we are connecting people, places, and possibilities — today, tomorrow, and together.

In Service,
