Shaping Future Careers: Jessica Pagola’s Internship at Roanoke Cooperative

At Roanoke Cooperative, we are proud to support students in their career exploration, and we were delighted to have Jessica Pagola join us for her internship and job shadowing experience.

Jessica, a junior in the Early College program at Roanoke Chowan Community College (Class of 2026), came to us with a strong interest in accounting. As part of her 11th-grade job shadowing requirement, she was seeking a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the field. When her guidance counselor, Ms. Vann, suggested Roanoke Cooperative, we were happy to welcome her to our team.

Throughout her time with us, Jessica quickly discovered that accounting is a multifaceted field, involving much more than she initially expected. She particularly enjoyed double-checking financial records and ensuring accuracy—an essential skill in the profession. With a natural talent for math, she found that accounting was a great fit for her skills and interests.

Jessica has expressed her enthusiasm for finance and is considering accounting as a potential career path. We are thrilled to have played a role in her journey and appreciate her dedication and curiosity. Roanoke Cooperative remains committed to fostering learning opportunities for students like Jessica, helping them gain valuable real-world experience and explore their future careers.
