A small act of kindness like donating blood may have a significant impact. Roanoke Cooperative recently held a blood drive at the main office, inviting employees and community members to participate. We collected 18 units which equates to 54 lives being saved. Thank you to all who participated for sharing the gift of life!
Mary Beth Lampe, vice president of corporate services, and employees in her department helped organize the drive. She noted, “I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to our community’s well-being. It also provides a sense of fulfillment knowing that my donation may help save lives. For all those thinking of giving in the future, it is a selfless act with immediate and lasting benefits! In deciding to participate, all I had to do was think about of my loved ones needing a blood donation. Every 3 seconds, someone does need blood so I encourage everyone to consider participating in future drives!”
