Roanoke Cooperative member-owners gathered virtually on Saturday, August 22, for the Cooperative’s 87th Annual Meeting and Celebration—an engaging morning filled with important updates, Cooperative business and exciting prize giveaways.
Centered around the theme “Connecting People, Places & Possibilities,” the meeting highlighted Roanoke Cooperative’s Connect 2030 strategy and its vision for the Cooperative’s future. Connect 2030 builds upon Roanoke’s progress while establishing a clear path forward—one focused on strengthening connections, creating new opportunities and delivering lasting value to member-owners and the communities the Cooperative serves.
Throughout the meeting, Cooperative leaders shared information about Roanoke’s progress, priorities and ongoing commitment to providing reliable electricity, expanding access to next-generation broadband and supporting the communities it serves. The presentations demonstrated how Roanoke is connecting people to essential services and opportunities, connecting places through dependable infrastructure, and creating possibilities for a stronger and more prosperous region.
“Each year, our Annual Meeting allows us to reflect on the progress we have made together and look ahead to the opportunities before us,” said Marshall Cherry, President and CEO of Roanoke Cooperative. “Through Connect 2030, we are building upon that progress and continuing to connect people, places and possibilities in ways that will benefit our member-owners and communities for years to come.”
Member-Owners Elect Board Representatives
During the meeting, Roanoke Cooperative officially announced the results of its 2026 Board of Directors election. Member-owners elected the following directors to continue representing their respective districts for the next three years:

Member participation plays an important role in the Cooperative’s democratic structure and helps ensure that the communities Roanoke serves continue to have a voice in its direction.
Celebrating Our Member-Owners
No Annual Meeting celebration would be complete without prizes. This year’s event featured an exciting lineup of giveaways, including two $500 cash prizes, several additional prizes and the grand prize—an Ultimate Home Entertainment Package featuring a 75-inch 4K television, Dolby Atmos soundbar, leather recliner, popcorn machine and slushy machine as well as free installation and a 6 months service of Connection Protection, Roanoke Cooperatives new Whole Home Surge Protector program.
