Roanoke Cooperative proudly sponsored Destinee Smith of Gates County to attend the NC State Women’s Wolfpack Basketball Camp, held June 15–18, through a scholarship made possible by Touchstone Energy.
Destinee, a rising 6th grader at Central Middle School, was selected for her dedication to academics, leadership, and love for the game. A member of the Jr. Beta Club and Dragon Ambassador Color Guard, she consistently earns A/B Honor Roll and participates in basketball, volleyball, softball, and Girls on the Run.
In her application, Destinee expressed her excitement about learning from top female athletes and being inspired by her aunt London, a former camp participant who now excels in the sport. “It makes me feel like I can do it,” Destinee wrote. “I want the same chance to improve and meet new people.”
