Gates County welcomed us with open arms—quite literally in some cases—as we launched our first Today, Tomorrow, Together Forum on May 22, 2025, at Central Middle School. There were warm handshakes, bright smiles, and even a few joyful exclamations of, “Now I finally get to meet you in person!” For some, it was the first time putting a face to the voice they’ve heard on the other end of the phone. This was more than just a meeting—it was a powerful moment of connection between Roanoke Cooperative and our member-owners.
This year’s forum theme, Powering Progress: Stories, Strategy and the Co-op Difference, set the stage for meaningful conversations around topics that matter most to our members. We shared insights on the State of the Cooperative, updates on Powering Reliability and Response, and how we’re constantly working to better serve the communities we power. The crowd was engaged, curious, and appreciative—with comments like “This was great,” “We really appreciate y’all doing this,” and “I understand things a little better now.”
Attendees also had the opportunity to dive deeper into the many services Roanoke Cooperative offers—from our Upgrade to $ave program and energy-saving tips, to Digital Literacy, Fybe internet services, and even Sustainable Forestry. It was a night filled with learning, laughter, and a little friendly competition as just a few questions stood between lucky winners and their door prizes!
