The March 3, 2026, application deadline is approaching for the 2026 Catalyzing Agroforestry Grant Program (CAGP). This grant opportunity is open to farmers, ranchers and forest landowners to help establish agroforestry practices on their land. Grant funds may be used to prepare sites, purchase planting stock, rent equipment, acquire and install tree protection, and pay contractors.
The program provides up to $1,500 per acre for the first four acres, up to $1,000 per acre for the second four acres, and up to $750 per acre for additional establishment beyond eight acres. For forest farming, the program will provide up to $1,000 for 1/4 acre and up to $500 for site preparation depending on project scale and scope.
Through funding by Edwards Mother Earth Foundation, Minority Landowner Magazine and other partners are working with Virginia Tech to invite landowners to apply for a grant to help establish agroforestry practices on their land.
