This Giving Tuesday, Roanoke Cooperative invites you to join a global movement of generosity and make a lasting impact in our community. GivingTuesday is an open-source initiative, empowering individuals to support causes that drive positive change—whether through registered charities, local community groups, or grassroots organizations.
At Roanoke Cooperative, we’re proud to be a part of this movement by fostering sustainability, resilience, and empowerment in our communities. Through our nonprofit arm, Roanoke Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), we provide opportunities for income-qualified member-owners to access critical resources like solar power. Initiatives like Roanoke SolarShare help families struggling with high energy costs while advancing clean energy adoption and sustainability goals.
We’re also committed to preserving natural resources through our Sustainable Forestry and Land Retention Project. By conserving forest lands, enhancing landowner incomes, and engaging youth in sustainable forestry practices, we’re building a brighter, more sustainable future.
Looking to make an impact this Giving Tuesday? Here’s how you can get involved:
- Decide what causes matter most to you: Whether it’s combating food insecurity, supporting clean energy, or preserving our natural heritage, your passion can guide your giving.
- Connect with your community: Ask friends and family about organizations they support or use social media to discover local activists and grassroots initiatives.
- Use resources to find nonprofits: Explore platforms like Charity Navigator and Guidestar to learn about organizations that align with your values.
- Check for matching opportunities: Many employers and nonprofits offer donation matching programs, doubling the impact of your gift.
- Share your generosity: Inspire others by sharing your Giving Tuesday contributions on social media. Tag @GivingTuesday and use #GivingTuesday to highlight the causes you care about.
Whether you give your time, talents, or financial support, your actions create a ripple effect of generosity that strengthens our community. Join us in making this Giving Tuesday unforgettable.
