Director’s Day: Exploring Growth and Opportunity Across Our Region
Roanoke Cooperative’s Board of Directors recently gathered for Director’s Day, held at the Halifax County Economic Development Commission. The event brought together our board, management staff, and key community leaders, including Cathy Scott, Executive Director of the Halifax County Economic Development Commission, and Bruce Tyler, owner of Weldon Mills Distillery and Weldon Mills Theater.
The day served as a valuable opportunity for our directors to learn, engage, and connect with the many resources that strengthen our region. By exploring local industries and development initiatives, directors gained a deeper understanding of how collaboration and innovation are driving progress within our communities.
Tours included stops at the Toyota Dealership, Tesla site, Carolina Crossroads, and the Dominion Roanoke Rapids Hydro Power Station. Through these visits, directors discovered not only the community’s ongoing growth but also insights into future projects and opportunities on the horizon.
Events like Director’s Day underscore the importance of staying connected with the people, places, and partnerships that power our local economy—and the cooperative member-owners we serve every day.
