At its heart, a cooperative is about people. It’s about service, commitment, and neighbors caring for neighbors. The blood drive we hosted today, February 11, 2026 was a powerful example of what that truly looks like in action.
We originally set a goal of 15 donors. Then we were challenged to stretch to 18. Thanks to overwhelming support, we finished with 20 donations — including 12 whole blood and 4 Power Red donations. Those 20 donations could impact up to 44 lives.
That’s 44 individuals who may receive critical care during surgery, cancer treatments, trauma recovery, or other medical emergencies — all because someone chose to give.
A Strong Showing from Our Team
We are deeply grateful for the member-owners and neighbors who participated and helped spread the word. This drive saw an especially strong response from our employees, and that speaks volumes.
In the midst of recent outages, extended working hours, and the stress that comes with serving during challenging conditions, our team still made time to serve in another meaningful way. After long days restoring power and supporting our member-owners, they rolled up their sleeves once again — this time to help save lives.
That is service beyond the job description.
Why Blood Donation Matters
Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come from generous donors. Hospitals depend on reliable community blood drives to maintain the supply needed for patients facing life-threatening situations.
Every single donation matters. And when a community — including the very people working to keep the lights on — steps forward to give, it strengthens more than the blood supply. It strengthens the bonds that hold us together.
Thank You for Being Community in Action
To every employee, member-owner, and neighbor who donated, planned to donate, volunteered, or shared information about the drive — thank you.
This is what community in action looks like. This is cooperative spirit at work.
We are proud to serve a community that consistently shows up — for each other and for causes that matter.
